My name is Shannon.
I'm an outreach and education specialist with a passion for nature. My job is to help others learn to appreciate the great outdoors by developing a desire for knowledge. After all, you can't care for something if you don't know it's there.
I love being outside. From camping and hiking to bocce ball and barbeques, I strongly believe that sunshine is good for your soul (with appropriate sun protection, bein sur). I enjoy fishing, paddlesports, backpacking, cooking, photography, and crafting. With great friends and good times, we can balance a successful career and a fulfilling life.
Photography has been a hobby of mine since highschool. I prefer to shoot spontaneous portraits, macro nature, and waterscapes featuring clouds. In 2016, I made the jump to stock photographer as a way to help support this ever-growing hobby. View my portfolio here.
I attended the University of Florida to earn both my Master of Science in Agricultural Education and Communication (2015) and my Bachelor of Science in Forest Resource Management (2009). Go Gators! #chompchomp
I smile. A lot.
